I'll give you a for instance, a year or so ago "Beautiful Creatures" came out, there was a lot of "fuck that, it's twilight with witches." But it was legitimately a good movies. Sometime's there is collateral damage, and films that are legitimately good get hated on because they are part of a trend. So on the one side of the fence you have the people that potentially "rightly" hate twilight and therefore are pushing as hard as they can to kill the trend. When you have a billion dollar franchise you are going to have imitators. It invaded popular media despite being a huge pile of crap.
